I have news of a great scandal at work, but I can't say anything about it because apparently there was a big meeting where it was made perfectly clear that anyone talking about or even thinking of talking about our new Vice-Chancellor - and his new job at a Scouse University after turning this university on its head in only sixteen months, leaving before the great changes have even been implemented and while nobody realy knows how its going to work - will get sacked.
So I won't.
Instead I look forward to our next Vice Chancellor coming along and telling us to put everything back to how it was, because this is His Vision.
The Guardian has something to say about it, certainly.
Staff at the University, however, were certainly relieved when they heard Sir Howard was leaving. One head of department is said to have leapt in the air with joy and one academic told EducationGuardian.co.uk: "It was worth going to work on Monday to get the sense of 'yippeeing' in the corridors"."
"...People got upset because he was running the university like a little fiefdom and giving very big contracts to his mates," said one academic, who preferred not to be named.
I didn't say nuffin, right?
