Bet you're one of those people who grinds their own pepper, aren't you? Bet you grow your own MINT too? Posh hey?

I am lost for words.

Monday:
Four people over, the room's too hot, I can't teach in there wah wah wah.
Why doesn't this (brand new) room have a whiteboard in it? This is an outrage! Wah wah.

Tuesday:
I arrive at work at 8am and have to rush around moveing tables and computers and finding chairs in the corridors because some Postgraduates are in a room for 70 and there's over a hundred of them. Oops. This causes me much grief, the biggest room we have only just fits 100 and I have to move about a thousand things to sort this out. A lot of people are unhappy, much blame is passed around.

Wednesday:
Two people panic at me because there are people in the rooms they expected to be in. You're an hour early, I point out.

Being Wednesday, it's acutally pretty quiet. I use the time to increase my scrabble average/I mean print out all the timetables again and tell everyone that everything will change next week and they can all leave me alone now thank-you-very-much.

Thursday:
A day of collecting information and building a huge paper tower as I have no time to actually do anything people ask because they are pretty much queueing up to shout at me. I'll sort this little lot out tomorrow, I think optimistically.

Everybody hates the new rooms. It's not that they still have cleaning products and brooms and shelves in them, it's that they USED to, and there aren't any computers yet. For some reason, people seem to think that eiother this is my fault, or I'll just take pity on them and put them somewhere nice and fluffy with big windows and a coffee machine.

My tongue is sore from all the biting.

Friday:
Praise Be! It's the end of the week!

I receive an email from another faculty asking why none of our students have been going to their lectures this week. I explain that they should probably inform me if they are going to change the times and rooms and names of any of the sessions, since we did sort of agree about four months ago when everything was going to run. He assumes I would check everyday. Sure, I have nothing better to do. I'm sure you realise that I can do little at this point to stop the students carrying around the timetables they were given before these changes were made. I say, desperately avoiding the use of Bad Words and Too Much Sarcasm.

Friday is a better day. I still stay in work late printing out timetables and moving everything for Monday, when I'm sure everyone will want it all changed back.

Last week was mnore of the same, except they're STILL not happy. Oh well, I say and shrug until they go away.

Well, I'm heading over there this evening for the Insistute of Acoustics meeting, so I hope everything goes to plan otherwise I'm gonna blame you for everything!

Yeah, turned out fine, even if the room was basically a corridor/atria with a curtain.
