I have a Grand Plan for Skip The Budgie from next Sunday.

The site will develop a theme that will run for six months as I chronicle my GAP year trip to India, ten years after the fact. There is love (maybe), excitement (definitely), adventure (probably), childish bickering (x lots), crime and mystery (oh yes) and lots of pretty indian girlies (um... Well I was young!).

I kept a detailed diary while I was there, mostly to try and retain my sanity but also because it was such an insane thing to be doing. Along with all the other millions of GAP students, I know but insane for me. There were three books in all and yes, they are deeply personal. No, I don't mind sharing - in fact there's a certain perverse pleasure in it, which of course is one of, if not the main raison's of the internet.

Ten years on, I've forgotten most of the story so I'm looking forward to it. I remember feeling like it really did change me as a person, it was a huge challenge to overcome, it got rid of my accent and forced me to tolerate intolerable situations. There is some stuff about the Church and religion too.

Ah well I hope you all enjoy living through it again with me and if anyone knows the Tamil for Skip The Budgie I would be most grateful!
